Take Care of Your Body
Washing your hands and wearing a mask in public are important. Also critical are these strategies...
- Improve your immune system with at least 30 minutes of daily brisk walking. Improving your mood can be as easy as taking advantage of those exercise-released chemicals like endorphins and serotonin.
- Stick to a routine. Routines give a sense of normalcy and help keep your internal clock regular. Set times for on-going activities, like cooking and caching up with friends.
- Eat whole, natural foods, which can give your body a boost and help keep your natural defenses strong. Foods rich in vitamins are an especially good choice, like citrus fruits and dark leafy vegetables.
The health of your body is a critical factor in your overall immune response.
Take Care of Your Mind
When it comes to keeping yourself happy, don't forget about nurturing your brain. Pandemic related stress is real and can feel overwhelming. Plus, it can lead to disrupted sleep.
In a recent study, difficulty sleeping impacted 47% of adults sheltering in place, 59% of adults who lost income and 64% of households with a health care worker.
So, how can you reduce pandemic-induced stress?

Take Care of Your Community
Connecting with others - even while social distancing - can bring you a sense of purpose while bringing your community a sense of strength. You can say hi from the safety of your car, check in on a neighbor through a note or other distanced manner, participate in an online fitness class, watch a concert or play, or even have a virtual party.
Get a Good Night's Rest

- A boosted immune system.
